 I'm finally back into my favorite (for the time being) craft. They call it Altered Art. The Desk Organizer is papered with Graphic 45 Bohemian Bazaar. It also has an Aztec flair. This box is great for the crafter. Back slot holds 12 x 12 sheets, next is great for not pads, next for those post-its, stickies etc. and then it has three cube drawers and a nice long drawer for pencils, pens, brushes and misc.  I'm getting items ready for the Craft shows in October. All drawers inside and out are paper lined.

Now here is a unique bookend..that is 'serviceable'.
Six drawers that are 2 1/2" cubes will hold all those miscellaneous items that may be scattered about.
Special shells serve as drawer pulls. Each drawer is paper lined.

FAVORITE HYMNS PLAQUES

The plaques are fabricated from Prima papers, in this case,

"Seashore" with a white-washed frame and using sea shells and clam shells.

The Hymn on the left is: "How Great Thou Art" .

and below, with a star fish and sea shells

TWO ALBUMS 

The two albums were made in class at the Paper Niche. Frank Garcia, an educator from Prima products conducted three workshops in April. I attended two of them.

The first is called Cherié Album and the second is a Gate Fold Album containing two fold out books.

Prima products were used in both albums. 

The Cherie Album has 17 pages and contain pockets, tabs, tags and place holders for photos.

The Gate fold Album is a "beaut". It is filled with pages, pockets, tags, tickets, clips,

and lots of embellishments.

On the inside it is basically two books. One opens to the left and the other to the right.

                                   

Shabby Chic Songbird Tree

The cottage-style flair along with musical note leaves and songbirds will be a delightful addition to almost any décor. The whites and off-whites, along with pearls, rhinestones and soft puffy fringe make this a center piece that can be used for many occasions; baby showers, bridal showers, birthdays 

and in its winter whites, surely, for Christmas.

Whimsical Cardinal Tree

 This Whimsical tree will be a great addition to your Christmas decor. It stands 23" tall, made of composition wood by Kaisercraft and sports the bright red cardinal and textured green leaves in traditional Christmas colors. 

But... this is a delightful tree that sports one of our favorite aviary friends, the Cardinal.
This tree can be displayed all year around.
It's a "Tree of Life" with birds, flowers, berries, dew drops and leaves.

This is what the tree looks like before we start. It is quite sturdy
and the stand slips out and later can be stored flat.

These beautiful Cardinals with their fanciful feathered tails are perched amongst the
textured leaves. They are made of paper, shaded and "puffed" to add to their dimension.
You will learn quickly how to make these lovely birds and fix them to their branches.

The leaves are textured by "crimping" the green papers and shading them. In the openings we will use green vellum and skeleton leaves that will be mounted on the back. In front, pink rhinestones give the affect of dew and the red rhinestones, holly berries.

PEACHES AND CREAM CUPBOARD

This beautiful Peaches and Cream Cupboard is not only a great cabinet, but has a classic appearance that you will be proud to use and display in any room. The composition wood is papered with quality papers. Complimentary papers of florals, pink paisley and the interior design is geometrical pattern in cream color. Special attention was given to the doors and drawers. Floral Medalions tinted in peach colors are mounted on each door and on the back. Cream color cord frames each door with tiny paper flowers in each corner. Topaz-like crystal embellishments are door and drawer knobs. 

The dimensions are: 19"h x 12 1/2"w x 4 1/2"d. The two door, two drawer cupboard provides all kinds of storage possibilities. Three shelves inside will be perfect for spices in the kitchen, meds and personal items in the bathroom and for the ladies Boudoir, paints, inks, tools for the craft room.

ADVENT CALENDAR BOX

This delightful and dynamic calendar has 24 drawers. Each drawer is numbered counter clockwise. It begins with #1, December first and works its way around to Dec. 24th, Christmas Eve. The box is 12 1/2" x 12 1/2" square. Each drawer is a 1 1/2" cube. The center is a shadow box containing a 3D Christmas scene. The box is wood and drawers are heavy chipboard. The framing is painted red and the inside of the drawers are a Christmas green. Each drawer fascia has a Christmas paper motif and the center 3D scene is made of dimensional papers and 3D objects.

Additionally, on the top of the box is a set of seven Nativity characters. These are made of clay, then backed and hand painted by the site artist, Dorothy Schawk. This is an optional item.

It is suggested that each drawer be filled with a treat and/or a miniature ornament. If the Nativity set is used, beginning with Dec. 18 one of the characters is place in each of the succeeding drawers, with Mary holding baby Jesus placed in #24 drawer. This is an heirloom piece and will be enjoyed for generations.

This particular piece was made for my  beautiful Great Grandniece and Grandnephew, Ava and Tyler Douglass, and they, just this Sunday, Jan.6, 2013 added another Great Grandnephew...Travis. Great news. 

ADVENT TREE BOX
This is another version of the above. Aside from the shape, the main difference in making this tree is that it is already fabricated. It is made of wood, drawers and frame are already assembled. I stained the frame with red glitter mist and the drawers were stained with a Christmas green. The drawer fascia were papered with Christmas scenes. Each drawer is numbered, starting at the bottom.

The last drawer to be opened is 24, Christmas Eve. The little nooks and crannies allowed space for miniature nativity characters and ornaments.

This box has a sage green stain edging and the papers are of a botanical nature with a complimentary pattern for the drawers. The drawer liners are a light botanical paper.

Great for consolidating that clutter on your desk or counter. The ideal compartment for scrapbookers is that the back compartment holds those 12" x 12" sheets

 A Ladies Diary from Graphics 45 are some of the papers used here. A pink polka-dot made a nice contrast for the drawer liners.

On most of these boxes I used Graphics 45.

TISSUE BOX COVERS
No need to place those needed tissue boxes out of sight. Now they can be part of your decor. The designer has fabricated the boxes (both jumbo and cube size) out of   3/16" foam board. These are light weight but sturdy.

Designer papers are applied to the surface. Especially for Floridians, a variety of sea shells are used for decoration, and alternatively, flowers, ribbons and other embellishments.
